New CD Pre-Release Contest!

August 15th, 2011

album cover

It’s finally here, folks. August 29th is the release date! It’s been a long time in coming, but at last it’s right around the corner: “For the Glory of God”!

Check out the album page for information on how to pre-order the physical CD (or digital download if you prefer). You can also stream a few of the new songs right now – all of them will be available for download and streaming on August 29th.

“We’ve grown a lot in the past couple years, and our music and lyrics have grown too. This album stays true to our family harmony roots, while at the same time foraying into contemporary christian, worship, folk, blues/jazz, orchestral, and other epic goodness. Above all, the music is dedicated to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Sola Deo Gloria – For the Glory of God!”

To help launch the album, and to please our (few) but loving fans, we’re giving away a FREE autographed copy of the new album! Also, everyone who enters the contest will get a 20% off coupon for their purchase of the CD.

So here’s how the contest works:

Step 1

“Like” The Willi on facebook. If you’re already a fan, great! You’re ahead of the game.

Step 2

Tag The Willi in a public post. To tag us, type in the “@” symbol, and then start typing in “The Willi”. Facebook will autocomplete it for you, and you can just click our fan page.

The post needs to be public in order for us to count the submission – otherwise, we won’t be able to see it! To make a post public, click the lock icon, and choose “everyone”. All that does is allow that particular post to display on The Willi facebook page.

Don’t know what to say? Here’s something to get you started. “Win a free CD from The Willi – [insert personal comments here]” :)

Step 3

Oh wait, there is no step 3! Once we see your post, we will message you with the 20% off coupon codes. For the purpose of the contest, only one entry per facebook account will be counted (though you’re more than welcome to mention us as much as you want). On August 29th, the winner will be determined by random drawing. Should something catastrophic happen, like if the CD duplicating company goes out of business within the next couple weeks, we reserve the right to extend the release date and contest. :)

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Have fun!

Spring Getaway

June 2nd, 2011

Where to, you ask?

To see the new baby, of course! And while we were there, we thought we might as well say hi to Jonathan’s parents and siblings… :)

I think we chose one the hottest days of the year to go to Virginia and see family, but other than the heat and heavy traffic on the way up, our trip was perfect! Mommy and baby are doing very well – baby is never without a pair of loving arms to hold him. It would be the same for you too if you were the youngest of 9 children and had several adoring aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends waiting their turn! Trust me.

As always, pictures can tell a story better than I can, so browse through them and enjoy!

Family is one of the greatest gifts God gives us, and I’m so thankful for mine. Have a blessed day!

1950′s Barn Dance!

May 23rd, 2011

When it was first decided that this year’s barn dance would be a 50′s theme, I thought how fun it would be to wear a simple poodle skirt and ponytail. Then I thought I could go a little further and have some fun with funky colors and prints. Then I considered the red lipstick and authentic hairstyles, and well, we eventually ended up with this!

What do you think? Does it look like we just stepped out of a 50′s soda shop? :-)

Check out the rest of the pictures!

The Dancing

Beautiful surroundings, good music, good dancing, and great friends. It was a wonderful day. I hope yours is just as great!

Organizing Frenzy!

May 10th, 2011

Don’t you love it when messes like this…

…turn into this?

It all started when Nate asked me to organize a bookshelf he finished building, since he’d made a bit of a mess moving books and games out of the way.  While I was at it and had some extra space, other bookshelves needed re-organizing too…and the hall closet…and a few other miscellaneous things. Why not? 5 hours later, I was victorious! I may have gotten a little carried away, but I’m so happy to have tidy bookshelves and a hall closet that doesn’t explode every time it’s opened. :-)

I mean, look at the beautifully stacked fabric!

I thought my design for keeping my knitting needles in place was pretty ingenious…

Here’s the finished bookshelf, all neat and clean!

I even had enough room to devote an entire shelf to all my horse books!

Big organizing projects take so much energy, and by the end of the day, I was ready to collapse, but it felt wonderful to have it all finished at last!

Now if I could just turn that same attention to my bedroom… that’ll be next month’s project.

:-D

A Day at the Park

May 3rd, 2011

Nate and Evan just turned 17 and 15 this past month!

Birthdays are, of course, a cause for celebration! so we went with our friends to the local park to spend the day.

Who says playgrounds are just for kids? :-)

After wearing ourselves out on the swings, roller blades and monkey bars, we met back at our house where we topped the party off with a potluck dinner and games.

Hope you had a great time, boys! But then I suppose I really can’t call them “boys” anymore…:-) Happy birthday, gentlemen!

Studio Days

April 30th, 2011

Yep, we’re back in the studio again! That may be the reason for our absence on the blog lately…

Making a CD takes lots of work, lots of time, and lots of music practices, but we’re having a blast! It’s been great working with our friends at Windrush Productions again for our second project. We’re about halfway through the recording process before we get to take a break while our sound engineer mixes, and…well, engineers. :-)

~Nate, our “Mr. Bass Man”

~Walter, our main songwriter, singer and leader. Go, bro!

~One of my favorite places to be…playing the piano.

~Angie, putting down violin tracks in the ‘isolation chamber’ (also one of my favorite places to be :-) ).

~We’re blessed to have our friend and awesome drummer, Jeremy, join us for this project! Thank you so much, Jeremy!

Be looking for a release this summer – it’s going to be good. At least, we think so! :-D

The Skies Proclaim

April 27th, 2011

I saw this view outside, and immediately went for the camera!

God’s creation is so beautiful, isn’t it? Even when a severe thunderstorm is coming our way. :-) The work of God’s hand is indeed wondrous!
