Barnes and Noble Expedition

October 3rd, 2007

It was a sunny Autumn day when the Willi set out on an expedition; a mission of great importance, one that required a great deal of wisdom for decision making. They were armed to the teeth with purses, wallets, flashy sunglasses, and the ever handy dough. They were going… to Barnes and Nobles!

Okay, so maybe a trip to the nearest bookstore isn’t that dramatic, but still, I love books, I want to make good decisions when purchasing them, and consequently take a long time doing so. :-) I’ve recently began my own collection filled with my favorite novels; they now fill all of one, single row in one of our large bookshelves. (one has to start somewhere, you know) Considering then, my great love of books, you could imagine what fun it was to spend almost an entire afternoon at Barnes and Noble, better yet, to use up my fifty dollar gift certificate – I was like a kid in a candy store!

My entire family are bookworms, so it’s no surprise that most of my siblings accompanied me on my hunt.

‘Anyway, you need people of sort of intelligence on this sort of quest…mission…Thing!’

-Peregrine Took, The Fellowship of the Ring

We split up into three groups; Angie at first remained with me downstairs to look at journals, stationary, calligraphy and the like; Mom and Walter wandered off into various portions of the store to look around.

Two and a half hours later…

We exited Barnes and Noble, mission accomplished. Under my right arm I proudly carried a plastic shopping bag, rather lumpy and bulky, and filled with my recent purchases. It was a difficult and dangerous endeavor, I had fend my way through filthy junk in order to reach the treasure, but in the end I succeeded! Be my guest, and observe extent of my plunder; are they not glorious finds?

Sounds like quiet an adventure…. But ehem i must say this. Take it from a PROFFETIONAL amature photographer, when you take pictures such as those you might want to use the fine sharpening mode so your picture is not so blury. The picture of the quil and ink would have been gorgeous if you had use that mode. Next time i see you please alow me to show you how it is done! HMPH!

Ahhhhh, a fine satchel of plunder indeed, my matey! I have often raised a covetous eyebrow at that particular pen there, and the other calligraphic accoutrements look rather ravishing as well, not to mention the lovely books. Keep it up pal, one day you’ll have a library to challenge that of your old man.

It makes me happy to see such an excellent blog, but still it’s mingled with more than a twinge of sadness. At least it will help us keep in touch. Blog on, friends!

Greetings, folks! I ‘welcome you with ostentatious formality to our humble abode.’ Good to see some traffic through here. Capital! Capital!

    To Mrs. Collins, :-)
I know the photos are of ill quality, but I was lucky to get my post up in the first place; lots of hassle and complications. (we’re newbies, you know) I’ll take what I can get! But I’ll be sure to plan ahead of time to produce better pictures. Professional, eh? Hmm, I would debate that. :-)

    To Mr. Darcy,
So glad you stopped by for a visit! I know, aren’t you envious of my beautiful pen? :-) I say, it’s awfully nice to have one again – I’ve miss my calligraphy sorely!
Yes, I know, in a way it makes me sad too, but I think this is an neat little way to keep in touch. You must visit often! I have a post coming up that I think you in particular would enjoy; sort of an Anne of Green Gables mishap, shall I say? :-) But I shan’t give away any more secrets, you shall have to wait and see.
    Until we meet again!

I LOOOVE your new calligraphy pen kasey, and the p&p play looks like it’s coming along capitally! I wish I was there to watch when you all preform it :-( But of course, reading your account of it will be the next best thing. I shall be there in spirit if not in body! :-)

I can’t wait for the next post!
