What Happened to the Land?

February 18th, 2008

What about the land?

A good (and reasonable) question: what did happen to the land? I mean, Walter posted about it a couple of weeks ago – there just hasn’t been any information concerning lately. What’s up? Are you still getting the land? What’s going on?

Yep: it’s time for a little update!

I’ve had a post written for a while now (titled It’s Official!) that’s sitting in my draft folder, just waiting until the right moment, to be posted on the day that we can officially and legally call the property ours.

But that day hasn’t come just yet.

Yes, we’re still getting the land, but as with all major purchases like this, it takes time. There are so many little details that one must think through, and it always takes longer than I expect. For instance, we’re currently deciding on how to bring water into the land (well or tap?), and where should we put the septic? There are also more decisions to make concerning our double-wide, manufactured home; we haven’t ordered it yet because we’re still making a few adjustments, punching in numbers, etc…

We’d appreciate your prayers that all these things leading up to the closing (we have a date set for February 29th) will go smoothly and that God would give us wisdom and direction through every step.

So…

Things are still going, we’re still getting the land, and we still love it! I must say, every time we visit Tennessee and see the property, it grows on me more and more. I can imagine our family living there, meeting our neighbours, working on the land, and hosting you – our dear friends – when you come and see us! :-) (yes, I’m counting on that!)

God bless y’all!

-Kasie

Three cheers for Sir Gwin (mind if I call you that?) for being the first to comment! Not that you have much of a chance to be on the top commentors list, but you are the first nonetheless. :-)

Thanks Esther! It’s always nice to know that people are praying for you.

You’re welcome Sir Valiant! It was actually the inquisitiveness of yourself and a few others that prompted this post. :-) I sure hope it’ll be soon that we can call the little cow pasture ‘ours.’ And yes, we’d love to have you guys visit!

Thank you Kasie, thank you. I am glad someone appreciates the effort I go to… lol. Sir Gwin is fine! Just fine! Hearkens back to the grand and glorious days of yore, etc. I’m glad to hear the purchase is still going forward without any significant difficulty. And I love that property! I can’t help but ask if you have that song going through your heads… you know, “Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier…”

Yes indeed! Those were really, really old (and fun!) days. (the Old Man, Sparkle/Princess Kassandra, Prince Nate…) We should play that game again someday!

I haven’t really had that song in my head. I’ve thought about it from time-to-time, but not really ‘stuck.’ Songs in general have been through my head though – I love to sing!

“Born on a mountaintop in Tennessee…”

Ah Sparkle the dolphin! I had forgotten that one. What wonderful memories… yeah, wouldn’t that be great if we could all meet up at your new house and play that again someday!?!?! I was kidding about the song… that would be an annoying one to get lodged in the ol’ grey matter.

Danged good stuff there. Well, if you all are game, then you can count the Old Man in. Can’t think of another cow pasture where I’d rather play Land of in Between than in yours. It’s an appointment then. And let us also not, in our haste to chug the intoxicating memories, forget of course my trusty sidekick Squirkle, nor are we likely to forget… uh. I’ll be ding-darned. Who was everybody else again?

“Raised in the woods so’s he knew every tree,
Killed him a bar when he was only three.”

I’m game! Here’s the plan: as soon as possible we meet up together and go for it!

Of course I hadn’t forgotten Squirkle, Lord bless him. For shame old man! How can you forget the unforgettable Prince Walter, or Prince Nate, Princess Angie, Princess Ariel (of course Sir Gwin and Princess Kassandra, which were already mentioned)? Good times indeed.

    That a fact? :-)

P.S. No matter how hard you may try, you cannot surpass the wisdom of Sparkle. Wise, kind old dolphin, she knows all things. :-)

I am afraid i missed out on such things! Where was I when great light fell upon the land? Where was I when these great Princes and Princesses took over the kingdom? Where was I when Sparkles wisdom was whispred about the land as she swam in the great sea of rainbows! ALAS WHERE WAS I? I must have been burried in my cubby hole snarling at any movement that walked past its entrance! To much good in the world is not permitable in the eyes of Mist the malicious Wolf! She hides in her lair planning to attack and bring evil back to the world! For evil is good in her eyes! (i like playing the bad guy or girl! lol)
