@Walter: Thank you! It looks like you guys put a lot of work into this. I love old parchments and coded messages! lol I can’t wait to go back and read more of my research links today.

@Rachel: No, not that long. I saw the post earlier in the day yesterday, but didn’t have time to try to solve it really, plugged in a few things with no luck. But last night once I played with the Handy picture it didnt take too long. I think I’m caght up, waiting for the next clue.

Okay…I’m in. Let’s see…Rachel should have received two emails from me…I couldn’t remember for a minute or two what to do …but then I did…and then I used my somewhat amazing repertoire of foreign language skills…which led me to here. Okay, so I don’t have a huge repertoire, but evidently enough…LOL! So, Rachel can tell you (once she checks her emails) how long it took me for the first part…it’s 6:41 pm PST now.

Now I have to find a magnifying glass!

Hey Willi – remember we got some old eyes here…lol!

Oh, dear. You want me to use my poor brain, that worked so hard just to get here, you want me to use that brain to convert between time zones?! Well, let’s see…my first e-mail from you is ‘timestamped’ at 7:27 my time, which means 6:27 your time, and 8:27 Willi time…and the second e-mail, when you read the text file, is 7:31 my time…so it appears to have taken you a grand total of (approximately): 14 minutes (give or take an hour). But math never was my strong subject! lol

Is it possible to hijack a comment section?? I do not know my Maori friend…where is that spoken any way?…but it will be good to brush up on my language skills once again!!!

I am currently all sleuthed-up (thanks to you!)…though, the Willis’ must be gone somewhere this weekend.

Can I put in a veto for ‘more to follow soon’? If I never see/hear those words again, it will be okay by me…lol!!!

At least with this fun, I can pretend like I am researching my husband’s family *smile*…they are from somewhere in Tennessee!

Funny how “J.S.” writes in perfect Blackadder Itc. (Lol… just being funny.)

I feel very stupid. My first guess was “Nathanael Greene” but somehow every single time I came back frustrated with no other answer and tried it I must have spelled something wrong. Yeap. I feel right dumb.

Anyways, I think we all know who has solved Conan Doyle before Sherlock did at AGE EIGHT!!! (Me.)
So this should be fun, including that… thingy which some people migth have overlooked. (But I doubt not in this intelligent company, very much so!)

And Sherlock never said “Elementary, my dear Watson”, so I will.

That was fun. I like your style. The whole story that I see written in front of me in jpg format, stained blackadder 36 pt. (And the whole thing slightly squeezed inwards on both sides so as to better fit the bottle, I imagine) is a marvelous tale of… well maybe I shouldn’t say everything… but I like what the story appears to be. (And the “typos” )

Im in oh ya! Ya i feel stupid too justin THE FIRST THING I TRIED AND FOUND WAS Nathanael Greene! I tried it and it didnt work so i went on with out bothering to try it different ways! Stupid stupid me!

I didn’t even do any research, I just saw “verdant” and thought “Nathaniel Greene” (But of course, as I found out, his first name is non-standard) Even so… I actually think that was my problem – but I even tried it every way with “ael” and couldn’t. I feel stupid too. Want to join my club Esther?

I feel totally dumb. I just got in today. The last three weeks have been crazy. We had company, then I left and now I have just gotten back from Texas. The crazy thing is that all along, I had the right answer, but was not using it right. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope to catch up soon.
