A Reenactment!
This weekend we had the opportunity to witness a Civil War reenactment! (Something they do down here with a bit more enthusiasm and feeling than in NY
)
[If you can't watch the video above, download the .wmv to your computer.]
Once again, a nearby tiny (but proud) town put out a great show – a calvary charge, skirmishes, cannons, a period dress fashion show, parades, “General Lee”, and even a Confederate ball (which we were sadly unable to attend…). I chuckle now as I write this, ’cause there were a couple times that us Yankees felt just a tad bit out of place – but I guess that’s just the culture.
If you’re struggling with the latest portion of “The Story of the Land” (that’s practically everyone I fear), watch this video! It might have some help for you.
We also took a ton of pictures, so stay tuned for more!

Great video! Thanks for sharing it! I cannot wait for more pictures!
im stumped on this clue….. though i havent tried to figure it out much yet because i been busy but im stumped…..
I have to say I am almost completely stumped on this. I was over-confident last time…and now I get to eat a healthy helping of crow…is that right?
So, I have the first and the last, but I just can’t find that middle.
Perhaps tomorrow.
Humbly yours -
Camille
Okay…
I have all three pieces…but I can’t make it make sense.
Any more hints forthcoming??

Well, I guess we were a little too difficult this time around… You can blame it on Esther – she was complaining that it was all too easy!
OK everyone, here are some more hints for you all.
* Watch the video above, and the follow the hints there (do that first).
* Start with the word, “Sir”.
You can do it!!!!!!
Thanks, Walter.
I did that…maybe I did something wrong.
Then of course are some things one or two…technically one, but could be two. And dates…hmmm…numbers are a problem.
Off to try again…this does count as history, right??
Thanks!
Camille
Pay no attention to my previous posts. I fear I was rambling on and on without giving my full attention to the matter at hand. Plus, my friend, you know that guy <—- over there kept saying , “I know the answer, I know the answer’ in that annoying sing-song voice. He was taunting me, I know he was!
So, we’re good!

I giggled at parts of the video. Subliminal giggling, I did.
HEY SINCE WHEN DO YOU LISTEN TO ME WALTER? lol and you never replied to my last email walter just to remind you..
@Aunt Frances
I wouldn’t really call it subliminal…
I seriously was going to try something a lot faster, though.
I’ve been REALLY busy, so I haven’t gotten to spend much time on this…I’m sure it’s right under my nose… And I’m probably the only one still stuck… LOL A SMALL hint might help…
Walter gave a lot of good hints – do you need more?
This reminds me of the very first letter I received. Every word was so precious to me, but that first letter – oh what a balm to my soul!

@Camille
Huh? Was that some sort of hint? So thickly veiled that I couldn’t even figure it out?
I’m really laughing over here! No wonder I got the nickname ‘Delete Happy’…and why I received many, many, many emails like your message above during the jt400 *smile* – I think a book could be written with my hints…rofl!!!
Yes, that was a hint – but I thought it was witty, yet telling you exactly what to do (at least when taken with your fantastic, albeit very straight forward, hints)…where is that delete button?!?!?!

I have the first and the last, but I’m no sure about the middle one…hmmm…
and i am so far behind here… ag i cant figure out the number thingy…
Esther -
Did you take part in the jt400 hunt??

[...] Civil War ball is what first caught our attention (some of our readers remember the reenactment we attended in VA, and on another occasion a Vintage Ball). But the ball is open only to reenactors. We had to fix [...]
