Soon

May 29th, 2008

“Bye Dad. I’ll really miss you!”

It was Sunday evening, May 25th. Dad was on his way out to travel down to Tennessee and work at his new job (a security guard on a college campus). He had left last week also for the same reason, and the days seemed to drag by without him.

“I won’t see you for a while again.” I squeezed Dad tightly and gave him a kiss.

“It’s only for a few more days,” he reassured me, “less than a week actually. Goodbye everyone! I’ll see you soon!”

“Bye Dad!” we waved to him and watched our mini van disappear down the driveway.

Soon…eh?

“Please Aslan, what do you call soon?”

“I call all times, soon.”

-Lucy to Aslan in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader :-)

It seems as if we’ve been saying we’ll move ‘soon’ for the past two months. When folks inquire about our moving date, our reply is usually “we don’t know for certain, but it’ll be very soon.”

Well, now we really are moving soon. Our date is set for May 31st. Dad will be back on that Saturday after a night of working, and from there we’ll pack up the moving truck, bid farewell to our fabulous hosts, and be off! (we’ll sleep in on Sunday morning) That’s “the plan” anyway. Please pray that everything goes well!

So it really is soon! I can’t wait!

-Kasie

That is exciting news! Yes, I will pray for a safe moving day with good weather.

I’ll be seeing you all just a week later. I can’t wait.

Oh my – you’re right! That sure is coming up quick. I’m looking forward to that too. I’m glad we waited a couple of weeks so you can actually live with us in our own house! Yes, pray for good weather. I didn’t even think of that! When we moved from N.Y. it rained on the day we were planning to pack the truck.

Well, as one who can attest to ‘soon’ not really mean ‘soon’ at all, I am very, very happy for you all!!!

May 31st is the day of Victoria’s graduation party, so we’ll throw in a few prayers during the course of the party on your behalf!! We can say it’s a moving party (with no moving to actually be done) on your behalf!!!

    Blessings -
    Camille

PS – My husband LOVES your property!!! He took over the computer the other night as I was visiting your site and looked at all the pictures!! *smile* (You really have to know how big this is – he does NOT like computers!)

    Beautiful.

Amen Esther, if we don’t all make it down this year, I may just have to drive myself down if the missing gets to be too much. It’s getting there. Just keep your eyes on that driveway for a dustcloud.
