    Happy Birthday, Kasie!

    Now you can use the internet all by yourself at the library. ;-)

    Thank you guys so much! I’m so thankful to have y’all as friends.

    @Andrew
    I think Esther meant ‘sweet’ but made a typo. Getting a little lax in your typing skills, eh, Esther? :-P

    @Aunt Frances
    Ha – you’re right! “Great scott! I hadn’t thought of that!” But of course now I have no need to use the internet at the library, since we have our own at home – huzzah!

    Thanks again guys! It means a lot to me.

    @Nate
    Thanks bro!

    @Camille
    I thought of doing something special for this birthday, but most of the things I really wished for already happened the week before! I finally got to go swimming for real (you’ll read about in a future post), had a sleepover with a friend (…which you’ll also read about later), and plus, Joy and Katelyn were here! We played games all day long, then watched our home DVD of the Pride and Prejudice play we did last year with friends. So it was a rather uneventful but sweet, fun and pleasant birthday! I enjoyed it a lot!

    Sorry this was late :-(

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    From all of us Thompsons. Wish we were there to celebrate with you!

    BTW, I didn’t get my license until I was 20 :-) You’re pretty lucky! ;-)

  • Kasie

    July 31, 2008 at 4:43 pm

    Thanks Thompson family!

    Hey, I didn’t say I was getting my license, only that I’m going to learn how to drive. There’s a subtle difference. Do you know how much insurance and a car would cost? No way! :-) A permit is all I need for now. I can take my time learning and get my license only when I have a need for it! (I’ll probably be twenty by the time that happens) It’s not like I have a job to drive to everyday, it’s just a handy and rather important skill. :-)

    @Shanna
    There are some of us in our household, who even at the ripe old age of 19, don’t have a driver’s license.

    I wonder who that could be…. :)

    I was 19 before I even got a permit! I will be 20 before I can get my liscense. So I am in the same boat.

  • Kasie

    July 31, 2008 at 6:48 pm

    I must be a homeschooler thing then! :-)

    Actually I think it’s more like most of us have parents who make the smart rule that you can’t get your license until you can afford the insurance and car yourself…

    Something like that I believe.

    HAPPY late BIRTHDAY KASIE!!! :)
    Wow, 16! You have matured into a beautiful and godly young woman. God bless you this year!

  • Sarah

    August 1, 2008 at 2:23 pm

    Yeah. It must be a homeschool thing.
    I finally got my permit the day before I turned 18, and that only because I wanted to take the test online. If you are 18 you can’t.
    Hey! Our parents or older siblings can take us anywhere, plus we are rarely without them… Who needs a license? ;-)

    Being one of the older ones in the group..yikes!!
    May I say a licence is handy….I lost mine for life when I was a young age,and live 50 miles from the nearest bank….be careful,safe,learn the right way ,even till your 20.
    BTW,the way things are going with gas prices,ya need a PHD in somthing ,just to afford,to start a car :) )
    All be well,and be safe…….. :)

    Happy belated 16th Birthday Kasie!
    It was great meeting you and your family last year in Virginia!
    I love Michael Billings’ motto: Night is falling…you must seize the day. Or if you prefer it in latin :) Carpe Dium.
    God Bless

    Thank you Kaysie and Melody! (thanks for sharing that quote, Melody!)

    Yeah, the gas prices are so ridiculous! I almost dread when I get my own license and car; by the time that happens in a few years, they’ll be even more expensive! ick!

    So instead… I like Sarah’s idea. :-D

    Wicked, Father Tom, wicked dead on! Right on the money honey. Score one bannana point for the home team! Allow me to heave my ponderous bulk into the ain’t-in-no-dang-hurry-to-drive-so-leave-me-alone boat. But, I do admit that I will, provided I pass, be getting my license on tuesday — as I will be needing it fairly soon now. But it’s on my terms, in my good time, so just keep your money filching hands off or me, world!

    Hope you had a good one, DLF, make sure to rock and roll this year for me. Blessings.
