My Testimony

August 28th, 2008

I’m published! :-)

Actually, what really happened is that I participated in Kaysie’s Alabaster Hearts program, which is where one answers a series of questions concerning how they came to know the Lord, their walk with God, and general ‘other’ about the individual.

So, I took it! (obviously…)

It’s been some time since I’ve truly shared my testimony with others, especially in the blogging world – it was neat to go back and remember exactly how it went!

Anyway, all of that was simply to say that you all are invited to head over to Kaysie’s blog and read my Alabaster Hearts. Leave a comment too! either there or here, it doesn’t matter.

I hope reading “my story” and a little bit about me blesses you!

A Lesson from the Olympics (turn up your speakers)

August 27th, 2008

Come to TheWilli.com to view this video!

I’m still playing around and experimenting with codecs, figuring out the best combination of video and audio quality. Please let me know how the video fared on your various internet connections! Once you load the video the first time, you shouldn’t have to load it again – unless you reboot your computer.

If the above video is taking too long, (or you’re in a hurry), here’s the link to the same movie on Vimeo.com. It’s lower quality, but much quicker! :)

Rain

August 26th, 2008

I’m sure all the farmers and residents of our county are happy, because we now have RAIN!

Apparently this area was in a drought last year, and the precipitation hasn’t done much better on this time around either. For the past three weeks at least we’ve had absolutely no rain…until today!

~Wetness. We’ve had steady rain…all…day…long, with no signs of letting up anytime soon. It gives one ‘cabin fever’ after a while, but hey, I’m so thankful to have it anyway!

I spy with my little eye…Nate’s wishing well!

I’ll leave our readers with a question: what is this picture of? Guess away!

Snapshots From Last Week

August 22nd, 2008

By now our readers may well have surmised from my last post that we had family here for a while. (after all, how else could niece Sarah be here?) And of course that assumption is correct! These past two weeks my sister-in-law Tina and her three children have been staying with us (Brian had to spend most of that time back in New York due to a tight working schedule).

So we had lots of games (including our family tradition, O’heck), walks, playing in the kiddie pool and evening viewings of the Olympics! :-) The kids have grown so much since last we saw them!

Top of the day to you!

Backyard Nature

August 21st, 2008

Guess what I found at Providence Glen!!! I was nonchalantly picking flowers the other day when I came across a rare creature of God’s creation.

Which soon lead to a full-fledged “photo op” of Providence Glen! (Haven’t had one of those in a while :-D )

Enjoy!

Video Editing!

August 20th, 2008

Good bye Movie Maker, hello Sony Vegas! Sure, it was good hunk of change ($85), but I believe that this is a good investment.

Sony Vegas simply runs at a whole different level than Movie Maker, and the learning curve can be a little steep at first. To make learning the new program more fun, I used some old footage from earlier this year to create a cheesy car commercial!

Enjoy! Hit the “More” link to watch the movie…..

Music in the Near Future?

August 14th, 2008

We’ve always loved playing music as a family, and especially worshiping the Lord together. But of course, you guys already know that! God really blessed us with the opportunity to be on the worship team at church in NY for many years. (Good times, eh Mr. Darcy?)

And now I wonder what He has in store for us now. We can’t (or at least, I can’t) shake the feeling that something is brewing….

We’ve been doing the church visiting thing over the past few months, and one of the first questions everyone asks is, “So, do y’all play any music?” We must look really obvious! :)

But then we lead worship for a cute little local church a few weeks ago – and now people say “So, we heard y’all play real pretty music! You should play here!” (I guess in a small town, word travels fast).

So…. We’re praying for God’s wisdom and guidance. Dad says that if something is brewing, jump into the pot!

My Latest Projects (And Post #200!!)

August 8th, 2008

Its hard to believe that this is post number 200!  I would like to thank all of our readers for…….well….reading :) And even though out of 200 posts I’ve only written around 5 that does not mean that I haven’t been doing anything.

Mom’s been keeping me busy with carpentry projects.

Here is a ‘cubby hole’ for our shoes in the mudroom.  And if you think it still looks messy, you should have seen it before!

Another project was to build a wishing well to cover up our “ugly” well.  I told mom that this is going to be expensive, but thankfully I was able to use the scrap wood that the carpenters left when they built the deck.

Here’s the “ugly looking” well. :)
