Snapshots From Last Week

August 22nd, 2008

By now our readers may well have surmised from my last post that we had family here for a while. (after all, how else could niece Sarah be here?) And of course that assumption is correct! These past two weeks my sister-in-law Tina and her three children have been staying with us (Brian had to spend most of that time back in New York due to a tight working schedule).

So we had lots of games (including our family tradition, O’heck), walks, playing in the kiddie pool and evening viewings of the Olympics! :-) The kids have grown so much since last we saw them!

Top of the day to you!

I’ve been telling you Esther, Nate has grown a lot! His face looks different, he’s taller, and his voice is a LOT lower! (nearly as low as Walter’s!) Probably no matter how often I tell you that you’ll still be shocked when we see each other. :-)

That’s a fun set of photos. Here’s some musings on them.

    1. The deck looks fabulous!
    2. I see open windows and the central air turned off*. Did it get cooler in the south?
    3. Kasie looks as if that’s the first time she’s ever seen a bubble before! :-D
    4. The mirror over the piano gives the impression of a pass through cut into the wall.
    5. I’m glad to see you got a swimming pool. ;-)

*I can’t actually see the air conditioner turned off but I know your dad. He wouldn’t try to cool down the great outdoors by running the air conditioner with windows open. ;-)

No, it hasn’t gotten cooler here per say, but after July we found that in the mornings we don’t need the central air at all! We just leave the windows open and there’s almost always a constant breeze (as well as a cool temperature). It’s usually not until noon that we turn the central air on. We like the fresh air, and it saves on our electric bill! :-D

I love the color of the walls in the main living area, that’s a sweet tint of whateveritis. I wouldn’t mind that myself. And yes, my honorable counterpart definitely looks massive and manly and mortifying. Way to go Nate. And yes, that look and that face are indeed, priceless. I love it. So awesome.
