Just in Case You Thought We Lived in the Sunny South…
…here’s something to change your mind.
This is the third snowfall we’ve seen in Tennessee this Fall, though it’s the first time it’s accumulated enough to be an official ‘dusting’.
It’s not much, but it’s still snow! Also the temperature does become very cold here at times, especially with the windshield factor we get atop our hill (I’m enjoying the change in weather after a seemingly long summer). Two days in a row now I’ve had to hack ice out of the horses’ watering trough and let the hose thaw out before filling it up.
So… just in case you thought we lived in the sunny south, think again.
It is possible to snow in East Tennessee. It’s still snowing as I write this, so we may get a bit more… We’ll have to wait and see!

we got a dusting this morning too!!! it usually doesn’t even flurry until the middle of December…
I hate the snow, but I think it is BEAUTIFUL!!! These pictures are great! I can’t wait to take a bunch of pictures this winter! They say we’re supposed to have a more normal winter this year. so Maybe I’ll even get to draw some snow in my drawing class in Feb!!! Love you guys!!
Yeah I heard that you guys had snow this morning. The flurries here continued almost until noon today, but none accumulated.
Ah well, it was gorgeous just to watch it swirling in the wind!
@Cadie
Hey it’s good to see you here! Snow is really pretty – too bad you don’t like it! Can’t wait ’til you can come and see us!
mean while up here in NY its still WAAAAAY TO warm! we had sleet ONCE and it lasted ike 10 seconds lol tis a shame! I hope this isnt a warm winter
i wish it would snow here!
It has flurried here…But no dusting yet! LOL That is great!
Wow, you guys have been getting an easy winter! we got like 18 inches of snow here, would’ve been more enjoyable if we hadn’t lost power, lol. How cold is it there?
@violinman
Well, it’s not winter yet you know. Where we lived in N.Y. we usually wouldn’t get snow until around Christmas, then a whole bunch in January, part of February (it was still cold the whole time though). Let’s see…when I went out this morning to feed the horses it was 22 degrees. I hear that this weather is unusual in this area around this time of year though; we must be going through a cold spell.
True,although it’s started around here. 10 degrees this morning! brrrrr.
Hehehe. (Yes, that was a giggle. Make of it what you will.)
I put that much sugar on mah toast in the mornin’! That ain’t nuthin!
(It’s something for down there, though.)
And about the weather here,
it wasn’t that chilly.
But then again, maybe I do have an all-natural refridgeration system.
Did you make a snowman or snow woman?
Snow!!! How fun! Even if there isn’t much of it.
We ARE in the Sunny South, so we only have to hope it stays cool through the Holidays. Otherwise, we may get one of those Christmases where we feel like going swimming :/ Glad you all are enjoying your home in all seasons.
Yeah we got a pretty big snowstorm that covered all of the ground except some parts. I would have shown you pictures Kasie but I didn’t take any!
oops!!!!!
