Our Weekend in Franklin

February 24th, 2009

Ah, the beautiful city of Franklin! It’s easy relatively close to Nashville, full of history and beautiful quaint sights, and home to many famous people and singers/musicians. :-)

But most importantly for us, it’s where Angie’s pen pal and her sister were serving the family ministry of Above Rubies for a couple of months. Since they normally live in Michigan, Angie and “Chloe” never been able to meet in person, but with them being so close and all, (okay so it’s five hours away…) we couldn’t let this opportunity go missed! So early Saturday morning we loaded up “Homer” with our overnight bags, books and cameras and set out for Franklin.

Get ready for a montage of pictures! Because, as usual, we had a blast! and documented the whole trip with pictures. I’ve organized each photo group into separate posts, just so this one isn’t too gigantic. :-)

Downtown Franklin

February 24th, 2009

After we picked up Chloe and Lindsey (not to mention officially “met”) we decided to tour downtown Franklin area, since we had heard much of its beauty and quaint-like class. It rained on us most of the time, but we still had fun! Angie and I had a great time with Chloe and Lindsey; we chatted, laughed and took pictures all the way as we went from shop to shop and enjoyed being tourists. :-)

Check out the pictures from our adventures!

Hotels and Historic Sights in Franklin

February 24th, 2009

We booked two hotel rooms so Chloe, Lindsey, Angie and I could talk during the night without disturbing anyone…which, of course, we did! It was like a sleepover! We first played games with the boys and Mom (Dad napped) before getting ready for bed, watching some TV, and lots talking! Nate told me the next morning that he heard us giggling sometime around midnight. Oops! I don’t remember what was so funny, but it could have been anything: things get silly when you get four girls together and a late night. :-) It was great fun!

Our game plan for Sunday was to #1: take advantage of the free continental breakfast, and #2: see the historic sights of Franklin. After completing our first goal :-) , we learned about the Battle of Franklin, enjoyed some more sights and tours, and even frolicked about a playground. Check out the pictures!

The End of the Journey

February 24th, 2009

It was such a brief time we had with Chloe and Lindsey, but it was great. After touring Carnton House we drove them back to their temporary residence and reluctantly said goodbye.

Lindsey and Chloe: we had so much fun with you guys, and hope to meet again in the future! You’re always welcome at Providence Glen. Love you guys, and have a safe trip home!

Well, actually no, but I thought the effects and lighting on this picture sort of gave it a dreamy look. :-)

The CDs Have Arrived!

February 9th, 2009

… And operators are standing by! :D

Those who want iTunes or Behemoth.com will have to wait a bit longer, as 3rd party digital distribution takes more time. I’m guessing another 3 weeks or so with iTunes, and I have no idea whatsoever with Behemoth.com – we’ll just have to wait and see!
