Happy Birthday Bro!
It was 2:30 in the morning when Homer, the family mini van, rolled into the country driveway at Providence Glen – finally home after the 5 hour drive. We were tired. And very sleepy, but glad to be back, and oh so glad for the vacation!
So we went to North Carolina this past weekend (make that ‘extended weekend’). It was a trip made to reunite with old friends, and what a blast we had!
Our first stop was at “Mr. and Mrs. C’s”, as we affectionately call them. (we used their house as a sort of base for the three days we were in NC). Mr. and Mrs. C are like grandparents to us kids, and go way back with Mom and Dad. We hadn’t seen them for about 6 years, and just had a great timel talking about what’s been going on in our lives since then.
I took an enormous amount of pictures when we were there, mostly when we went for a long walk, so here are my favorites from the bunch.
Thanks so much for letting us stay with you, Mr. and Mrs. C! We love you guys!

We met Andrew and his family two years ago through the Jamestown 400 Treasure Hunt. He and Walter became great friends, and have kept in touch since then. So when we found out that he was going to be in North Carolina for a couple of months as an intern, we had to go see him! After all, NC is a lot closer to Tennessee than Indiana. We had to jump on it!
We got to see Andrew’s dorm and the campus he’s taking a few classes on, we went to church together and hung out the rest of that day, talking up a storm and taking lots of pictures of course.
Speaking of which, here’s the batch I whipped up from that day:
It was awesome to see you again Andrew! It’s great to see what God’s doing in your life. Be sure to tell us the next time you (or your family) are in the area!

The Johnsons are our friends from NY, who moved to North Carolina several years ago, who we didn’t see for a long time, but then we got to see just two days ago! (get all that?)
No really, it was a long time since we’d seen that dear family. We drove up to their beautiful new home and were welcomed by the same beautiful smiles and faces. The time we had together was short, but indeed sweet. We had an absolute blast!
This is my favorite picture from the evening.
It was fantastic to see you guys again! Come see us in Tennessee soon!
