The New Residents at Providence Glen

May 30th, 2009

Our two cats, brothers Boromir and Faramir:

Today marks the 2-week anniversary they’ve been with us! Boromir and Faramir were given to us by our dear friends to help protect our garden. They eat, sleep and hunt outside :-) , and love being held and petted! We’ve been enjoying them very much indeed!

In case you’re wondering how we tell the difference between the two, that’s easy! Faramir is a bit smaller than his brother, and also has a spot of white beneath his neck:

Boromir and Faramir aren’t the only new residents we’ll have at Providence Glen either… but more on that later. That’s an entire post in itself. For now, say hi to our new residents!

People Pictures

May 27th, 2009

I used to wonder why Mum (yes, I sometimes like to call her that) would never take a picture of a historic sign, famous building or beautiful scenery without someone standing near, adding smiling face to the shot. She always says, “it’s the people pictures you remember and love to see the most.”

I must say, I still like the art shots. :-)

You definitely have to have a good mix though, because you certainly cannot leave out the people! I think I’m understanding more and more what dear Mum means.

At any rate, for this post, and for simplicity’s sake, I decided to choose the best people pictures from last week with our family, and through these many shots, you’ll get a good idea of what we did, how we liked it and what we look like. :-)

Get ready for a huge batch of photos!

So tell me, when you flip through an old photo album (notice I said “old”), which do you observe more closely, the art shots or the people shots, or both? (and by “art” I simply mean good photography of nature and whatnot) And which do you remember most?

My sister’s family:

And then it was our turn:

~and hopefully you know our names and faces by now! :-)

We took these shots just before our company left for home last Friday. I was sad to see them go – we had such a great time together! but at least it won’t be so long an absence this time. This year holds a definite two other meetings between us – huzzah!

I still have more pictures on our camera from our week with family to share with y’all though. Don’t think I’ve forgotten! They’re still coming. :-)

God bless your day!

More Projects!

May 25th, 2009

Just because I almost never post, that does not mean that I haven’t been busy.  For the past month Mom has been keeping me busy with many projects around the house.

The Many Faces of Abigail Rose

May 23rd, 2009

Meet my niece Abby, the youngest of my sister Sharon, who’s family were just here this week. She was too little to remember us from when we moved from NY, but she took a liking to us right away! She reminds me very much of my niece Katelyn, and also of myself when I was her age: she likes to sing really loud! :-)

Horsin’ Around

May 22nd, 2009

One of the best things about horses is riding them with your friends and family. If your friends and family don’t know how to ride, then teach them how, and enjoy! Twice this week I was able to go out with my nieces and nephews and let them ride Harley and Christy. Everyone had a turn, even down to Micah! It was such fun!

~R.J. didn’t care for riding the horses much, but he was willing to hop on for his picture!

Sadly, I didn’t get a shot of Micah having his turn on Harley, but you’ll just take my word for it. :-)

Silliness

May 18th, 2009

I know I said I probably wouldn’t be posting this week, but we’ve had some doozies these past few days in pictures, like this one for instance;

lastminute

and well, I couldn’t resist! :-D

Here we started off with a normal picture…

…then got slightly silly…

And then we kind of lost it…

At this point it was full blown hilarity!

So yes, if any of you were wondering, we’re having a great time! :-) This place has been full of life, and we’re having a ball!

More pictures and video to come!

I’m So Excited!

May 16th, 2009

Why? Because family from New York are coming today!

HUZZAH!!!

Remember these guys? Except I’ll bet they’re not little anymore! I haven’t seen my oldest sister, her husband and seven kids since we moved from NY a year and a half ago. It’ll be so good to see them all again! I’ve really missed them.

I’ll be busy this upcoming week, mostly spending time with family. So don’t expect too many – if any – posts during that time!

Well, there are lots of preparations to be made here today so, Cheerio!
