People Pictures

I used to wonder why Mum (yes, I sometimes like to call her that) would never take a picture of a historic sign, famous building or beautiful scenery without someone standing near, adding smiling face to the shot. She always says, “it’s the people pictures you remember and love to see the most.”

I must say, I still like the art shots. :-)

You definitely have to have a good mix though, because you certainly cannot leave out the people! I think I’m understanding more and more what dear Mum means.

At any rate, for this post, and for simplicity’s sake, I decided to choose the best people pictures from last week with our family, and through these many shots, you’ll get a good idea of what we did, how we liked it and what we look like. :-)

Get ready for a huge batch of photos!

So tell me, when you flip through an old photo album (notice I said “old”), which do you observe more closely, the art shots or the people shots, or both? (and by “art” I simply mean good photography of nature and whatnot) And which do you remember most?

    Hi Kasie…

Let’s see…I really like both kinds of pictures. As for which do I study more closely – I have to say I study both. Which do I remember more? Depends on the album, I guess. I’m thinking back right now – and there are several pictures from my parent’s early married years that I can remember of people (they were near and dear to me afterall!) – however, I can also remember pictures of just the ocean and a ferris wheel. If I don’t know the people in the pictures of an old album – the scenery pictures are intriguing! As for more modern pictures (ie color photos) I love both! They each serve a purpose. Just like we are one body – and yet function in different capacities – so it is with the art of photography.

    Many blessings -

I usually like people shots, but my husband takes some awesome nature shots when he goes climbing in the coast mountains in Canada (his homeland). We have them hanging in several rooms rather than the usual artsy abstract paintings most folks have.

The really fun ones are the kids hanging from the sides of cliffs when we rock climb.
