I can never remember those names. Why could you not name them something like fluffy or tom?

Aww... those are totally adorable.

I often wish I could have a cat, but with my family's dogs around, they wouldn't last long, unfortunately.

@Earwen
Thanks for the compliment! I'm a LOTR fan too. Though I like the movie a lot, the books are way better. :-)

@Esther
They're not in the least bit creepy. Just wait 'til you come down here Esther, and hang out with them a bit. They're the cutest, cuddliest, neatest cats ever!

@Camille
Definitely agree with you on the food there! We only feed Boromir and Faramir once a day. When night comes, they disappear for a while - hopefully hunting down rabbits and mice!

@Sheila
Hey there! :-) Yes, the cats are meant to eat all the pesky little animals that eat food in our gardens. I'm not sure if they've actually killed anything yet - or at least they haven't brought any carcasses to our back door! (not as of yet anyway: keep in mind they've only been here two weeks) But we feed them only a little so that they're encouraged to hunt for the rest of their meal. Cats are great for keeping the number of mice and such down! They are, after all, natural born hunters.

And as for who else will be joining us at Providence Glen, there will be a post on that coming up!

Kasie - I love kitties and these guys are beautiful! But, can you please tell me what their 'job' is in the gardens? Is if for those pesky rodents that nibble on herbs and other ornamentals? Please let me know if they actually help...?

Thanks for the photos and the post. So what other new family members are there?

If you want them to hunt down and kill the little meecy mice that creep and crawl - don't feed them (cat food) too often!

We had 'barn cats' at our first place, and I would feed them - and they chased the mice (and killed them) for fun - but not as exterminators. Once we cut down on the food - the mice disappeared!

Beautiful kitties, by the way! We had one that looked a lot like your Faramir. His name was Mashikuso Potato. 'Mashikuso' was something my dad used to say with the kids - some game - I think it is Arabic in origin, and the spelling is most definitely wrong - so our oldest named her kitty after that fond memory of her Ghiddu and because kids are kids she added on the 'Potato' at the end because 'Mashed Potatoes' was what she knew!

Many blessings -
