Fashion Week, Day 5: Something Different

June 25th, 2009

Fiddler on the Roof, anyone?

As you can see, I decided to do something different with today’s fashion post. :-) I’m taking a short break from picturing my daily stylish outfits, and instead trying out some fashion from the past.

A few weeks ago we had a movie night with our friends and enjoyed my favorite musical Fiddler on the Roof together. I love dressing up in period costumes, and at the last minute, put together this outfit! It’s always fun to ‘get into’ things like that. :-)

What I’m wearing:

Skirt: the very first skirt I sewed. I never wear it normally, but it’s a great piece for costumes!

Blouse: white long sleeved blouse, no label.

Hairscarf: Like I said, I just threw this outfit together really quickly, so I think this is just a piece of scrap fabric. It works though!

I just love that movie! Great music. Great fiddling too. Anybody else a fan?

We love that movie! It’s looong, so we have to pick the right time for it. The Dad is so funny :) I can see him right now in that barn doing his “moves”!

It’s kind of sad in that you see tradition being bucked, but at the same time tradition is honored and appreciated.
