These past few days have been a blast of fun and excitement for me! With my birthday on Thursday, friends coming to visit, and my party yesterday, Providence Glen has been a happenin’ place! I’m sorry to say that I didn’t get as many pictures as I would like, but my excuse, as always, is because I was having too good a time.
The Birthday
The fun all began on Thursday, when our friends from out of town arrived to stay with
a few days. After showing them around our home, we played our usual “Catch Phrase” (which has practically become a tradition now!) and Taboo, and I was blessed with wonderful birthday wishes and presents. Thanks guys!
We even had a time of worship/jam together! Somebody began it by breaking out a guitar, and it trickled on from there. It was great! We got out our instruments to pass around, and made a joyful noise unto the Lord.
Party Time!
Our original plan was to have the party at a park near the river where we would go swimming, play Ultimate Frisbee on the field and other picnic games. But God must have had a different plan for me, because on Friday it rained all all morning long! However, not a family to give up a party simply because of weather, we told our friends to come here instead.
I was disappointed at first at not being able to go to the park, but God knew best. In the end there couldn’t have been a better party!
With this last minute decision, Angie, Emily and I were busy rushing about trying to get things ready in time, and so I let the boys arrange the table. Hehehe, now that was hilarious!
We had no ending time for my party, just the starting time of 1 PM. By the time the last person left it was almost 9 PM. That means 8 hours of partying! It was awesome! We played games all day, talked, laughed, made jokes, and enjoyed each other’s company. We also did something very different from the average girl’s birthday party…
Airsoft
After changing the location of my party, Walter had told our friends to bring their airsoft weaponry, just in case the rain let up. Well, the rain let up, so we all donned our gear and battle clothing and headed outside to shoot each other.
I didn’t get any pictures during our battles, I’ll have to borrow some from the “reporters” (AKA the onlookers), but here are the aftermath shots we took!
And in case you’re wondering, it was my team who won both games. Oh yeah!
I had such an awesome time! God is so good, and I’m blessed with fantastic friends! I just want to thank everyone who made this day(s) special for me. (and that includes all the phone calls, emails, and comments). You guys are awesome!
Good times.
