No one… knits like Gaston???
Do my eyes deceive me…

You know knitting is manly when Gaston does it!

In a white heat of inspiration last night, I wrote these wacky lyrics to go along with the pictures. And if you think they are lame, you should look up the real song and compare!
No one’s slick as Gaston, no one knits like Gaston
No one’s scarf is incredibly thick as Gaston’sFor there’s no man in town half as manly, why you should just see him cast-on
You can ask any Tom, Dick, or Stanely, and they’ll tell you whose team they prefer to be onNo one pokes like Gaston, no one ropes like Gaston
No one likes to peer down through his “scopes” like Gaston
When I’m knitting here, yes I’m intimidating, my what a guy that Gaston!Give five hurrahs, give twelve hip-hips
Gaston is the best, and his vests they all fit!No one could quite “cast-on”, quite as good as Gaston
No one makes scarves and mittens and hoods like Gaston
For there’s no one as nifty or crafty, “As you see I’ve got needles to spare”
Not a bit of him sissy or daffy (that’s right)
And I’ll even make something that’s dashing to wearNo one’s quick as Gaston, making mits like Gaston
In a knitting club nobody fits like Gaston
“I’m especially good at my blanket-making”
Oooh! Ten points for Gaston! When I was a lad I knit 4 times a day, every morn so I wouldn’t get bored
And now that I’m old I knit 5 times a day
And my fans keep on asking for more!Who has brains like Gaston? Has the skeins like Gaston?
Keeps on making up endless refrains like Gaston?
And his expertise we will be celebrating,
My what a guy, Gaston!

(chuckle) Clever…
)
Sublime. Epic.
My favorite line:
“And I’ll even make something that’s dashing to wear”
Hey…man, this is FUNNY! Annie and I sat and sang it with your new lyrics, and laughed our heads off!
I’m still laughing right now.
Our fave– ‘I’m especially good at my blanket making!’
Five stars! Bravo! Wooo! I love it!!
That’s hysterical
you are so clever, Kase!
Actually, Angie wrote this! This is an “Angie post”….
BRAVO! BRAVISSIMO!!!!
Encore! ENCORE!!!
ETA
ps – my mom says “That is REALLY a great lyric, Angie! I love it!” Print it up along with photos for a gift. It’s good.
Thanks, for clearing that up Water…..did you get bit ,by the knitting bug also???
We so need to give print these pictures and lyrics to give to Gaston as a present! (or “Josh”, his real name) It should be hung on the walls of the theater along with our cast pictures. It’s brilliant! Great job, AN.
FYI though, He wasn’t really knitting. It’s all staged pictures. Doesn’t he look hilarious!
I, too, mistook Angie for Kasie on this post. It’s nice to see Angie posting. Very, very clever and witty.
I see a whole mini-movie in the making!!! Perhaps Walter could play Gaston?
One of my favorite lines in the ‘original’ (which by the way, isn’t near as fantastic as your rendition) is ‘I use antlers in all of my decorating’….so I was disappointed to not see ‘I use doilies in all of my decorating’…in your song *smile*.
Fantastic! Thanks for the laugh! I read this first thing this morning (but just now had a chance to comment) – what a great way to start the day!!!
@Camille
Ha! That’s a good line. Mom got us prints of those photos so Angie and I could present it to him the next performance along with the lyrics Angie wrote. I think he’ll get such a kick out of it!
*snickers* funny pictures! and lyrics
Love the song! Nicely done, Angie!
Love that Kaise! How funny! I was smiling the whole time while I read!
