Senior Pictures

April 26th, 2010

It was hard to narrow the many choices down to just a few, but with the help of some friends (thanks guys!), we were able to select our favorite 3.

#1: the head shot

#2: purple and green (I love those colors!)

#3: what you feel like when you’re graduating. :-)

Many thanks to my great photographer!

~Kasie

P.S. My graduation is on the evening of May 14th – hope to see you there!

At the “TEA Party”

April 21st, 2010

As a band we were privileged once more to participate in our TEA (taxed enough already) party rally on the 15th, by providing live patriotic music. Over 400 people showed up! Walter also opened up the rally with prayer.

God bless America!

Surprise!!

April 15th, 2010

The food and table were set…

…the birthday presents and decorations in place…

… lookouts were posted…

…everything came down to this moment. All the planning and preparation was completely worth it for the look on Angie’s face when we yelled “SURPRISE!!!”

Hugs all around!

Surprise birthday parties are so much fun when they’re actually successful! Angie practically jumped out of her skin! Maybe that’s why we were laughing so hard. :-D

~Friends~

What a fun day! Thanks to all our friends who helped so much and made Angie’s birthday so special. We love you Ang!

#4: Can’t stop laughing

:-D Laughter is good medicine for the bones.

Spring Vacation #6: The Last Few Days

April 12th, 2010

I’ve finally reached the last installment of our Spring Vacation series! though it is a little late. I think though, once you’ve heard about the busy weekend we’ve had, you’ll understand why I’m just now getting around to writing this post. :-)

So for the last few days of our family vacation, we got to see two more families, friends we met from the Jamestown 400. After we found out that the Discher family lived only a little while away from the Niednagels, we planned to spend a day together!

We had such a good time! Thank you, Discher family, for having us!

Our next stop was over 8 hours away in Indiana! It was my first time every being in that state…or in Missouri, and Illinois, or any other state we drove through during our vacation. :-)

Remember Andrew? (we saw him last year in North Carolina) It’s his family we stayed with. We only had one day to visit with our friends, but we managed to fit a lot in!

We had a great time with you guys! Thanks for your hospitality!

Oh! and look what picture I found the other day…

Three years ago…

…two weeks ago.

Good times.

And thus ends the chronicles of our family vacation (except for the fact that we arrived safe at home on a Friday at 2 in the morning). Thanks for stopping by y’all!

Spring Vacation #5: At the Niednagels’

April 9th, 2010

And good luck pronouncing their name! :-)

No, actually it’s “need-gnaw-gull”, but that doesn’t really matter. The point is, we got to visit them!

Jordan, Melissa, and their little boy William, live just a few hours away from the Nisbetts, out in the Ozark country. Long time readers may remember when we first visited Melissa’s family, when she was still a Thomas :-) . That was over two years ago, so it was good catching up! It was great getting to know Jordan and the rest of the Niednagel clan (Jordan’s brother and parents practically live next door). We went for a walk, the guys went four-wheeling, we played games, ate delicious meals (thank-you Melissa!), laughed and talked. It was a great time!

For additional pictures go to Jordan’s blog and scroll down.

Thank you so much, Niednagels, for having us! We had a blast.

Spring Vacation #4: Fun With the Nisbetts

April 7th, 2010

We stayed with the Nisbett family four days, and though we couldn’t have picked a busier time of year for our visit (especially with the play going on), we enjoyed good fellowship with one another! We talked, played games, laughed, and played music together. It was wonderful!

Nisbetts, we had a great time getting to know you guys! Thank you so much for all your hospitality! Scroll down and see yourselves…

Video time! Here we have Joel (on the piano), Josiah and Walter jamming around a bit: (apologies if these videos don’t show up properly; I’m having a bit of trouble getting it to work)

The rest of us end up in the music room too! With almost everybody playing a different instrument than they’re used to, our “music” made for quite the interesting sound. Great fun! :-D

Late at night stuff…scratch that! early morning stuff! I believe we stayed up past 2 AM.

Spring Vacation #3: Pride and Prejudice Media

April 5th, 2010

Continuing with our little chronicle…

We timed our visit with the Nisbett family so we could also see their production of Pride and Prejudice. Their theater group, Fine Linen Drama, puts on a couple of plays every year – we especially wanted to see their performance of The Pirates of Penzance last year! I was so glad we at last got to see one of their fabulous plays!

What I most love about the story of Pride and Prejudice is all the whimsical characters Jane Austin created. From Mr. Collins to Mr. Darcy, from Lady Catherin DeBourgh to Mr. Bennett, and of course not forgetting our heroines. In this production each role was played wonderfully! We all loved it, and ended up seeing it a second time. :-)

~Angie gets into the spirit of things by dressing appropriately! (Walter and I did also)

Of course, I took lots and lots of pictures, but here I’ll only show some of the best shots. I’m also doing something a little different and posting a couple of videos! Nothing is as good as actually being there, but the videos will give you a taste of what went on. So, enjoy all the media!
