The Inevitable

April 4th, 2010

We break from our “Spring Vacation” series to bring you breaking news…

I went to church today to discover that, after being gone for just 9 days, my “little brother” is not little anymore – he’s taller than me!

(that was suppose to be a sad face, but I couldn’t help keep from laughing!)

*sigh* I held on for as long as possible, but he has at last surpassed me. Such is the story of my life. :-P

Happy Resurrection Day everyone! Enjoy this beautiful day, and never forget what Jesus did for us on the cross!

Spring Vacation #2: St. Louis

April 3rd, 2010

After visiting with Annie and Chloe we spent a quick night at our hotel in Franklin (I say “quick”, because I went to bed around 2 and woke up at 6 or 7!), and headed out the next morning for Missouri, where we’d be spending the majority of our vacation. Our first stop was at the Nisbetts’, a family we know from the Jamestown 400 Treasure Hunt and have been wanting to visit for a long time. We were finally able to see each other last week when we spent a few days with them in fellowship and fun, and even saw their Pride and Prejudice play!

But more on that later.

For now, enjoy the pictures we took of our day spent touring the city of St. Louis! We all wanted to go into the famous arch, but alas! we were too late, and they were already sold out. Ah well. Maybe next time.

At any rate, we had a fantastic time walking about the city, seeing the Mississippi River and other sights and sounds of St. Louis. Check out the pictures!

Next up, Pride and Prejudice pictures!

Spring Vacation #1: Chloe and Annie

April 2nd, 2010

As many of you have known (or guessed), the week or so long silence on our blog has been due to our week long family vacation! We have a lot of friends we’ve been wanting to visit with in and around the Missouri area, and Mom and Dad decided we had better take a family vacation while we’re still all together and at home (as it is, not all of us can always accompany the rest on road trips). That’s how our trip came about, and last week, early Wednesday morning, we set out for our first destination, Franklin, TN!

Some of you may remember how last year we did a similar thing, driving out to see our friends Lindsey and Chloe. This time however, it was Chloe and her younger sister Annie who we saw (Lindsey was unable to make it). I was excited, because Annie is my penpal and friend, and we finally were able to meet each other!

We picked them up from the Campbells’ house where they were serving with the Above Rubies ministry, and headed out into the Franklin to spend our day together. What fun we had!

Oh yeah, if you’re wondering why all four of us girls are wearing matching skirts, take a look at the comment section here. :-)

Visit the Rubies Girls blog for a view from Chloe’s camera. :-)

It was awesome seeing you girls! Have a wonderful Easter!
