We didn’t win the gold in the Jamestown 400 Treasure Hunt 3 years ago (has it really been that long?), but we always say that the treasure we found was in friends. We know families from all over the country who we’ve only seen once or twice, or only kept in touch online, but we can still get together for a reunion and have a blast together!
Isn’t the family of God so wonderful? I don’t any of us foresaw all these friendships down the road when we first embarked on the hunt with simple catalog clues. It just blows me away!
Anyway, a few of us got together yesterday in northern Georgia for a reunion. We had families from Tennessee, Ohio, Washington, Georgia and South Carolina – it was awesome! We discovered that many of us liked to dance, and within a few minutes a CD had been put on, the furniture moved, and away we went! We played lots of games, fellowshipped over a delicious meal, laughed, talked and reminisced about our treasure hunting days.
It was a wonderful afternoon and evening. We didn’t get home until 2 AM! We must’ve been having fun.
Here are the pictures we took of our day trip!
Or simply summed up as “Photoshoot, Fun, and Farewell”!
Since Esther and I had bought matching shirts at Wal-Mart, we knew that sometime during her stay we simply had to do a photoshoot! It wasn’t until the last day she was with us that we finally got around to it. We had a lot of laughs, as well as a few surprises, courtesy of a certain brother of mine… This is what we came up with;
As it turns out, the train station, and the train which would bear Esther back home, wasn’t too far from my brother’s house, so we drove up for the night and visited for a short time.
Then, it was time to say goodbye.
Farewell, Esther! I hope you had a good time, and I’m so glad you came!

Otherwise titled, Picture Post Catchup!
A lot of fun happenings going on at Providence Glen. Our visit with Esther was great, and yes, we do have a lot of pictures to show for it! Here’s the first batch for you;
Airsoft Time!
Don’t you just love it when you’re playing airsoft near a country road, all decked out in camo, packing an automatic gun and other weapons, and then a car drives by…very slowly. They turn their heads, and then the moment of truth comes, when your spectators either smile and laugh, or give you one of those “I-think-you’re-crazy” stares. Not that any of this happened to me or anything! I just thought I’d mentioned it.
The Last Few (for today, anyway. I have another similar post coming)
Happy Summer! (a day late, I know…)

…who’s never heard of (before now, at least!) putting your sneakers in the washing machine?
In my experience, we always wear our shoes until they get dirty, maybe scrub the white parts with a wet paper towel, and continue wearing them until they fall apart and it’s times to buy new ones, and the process starts all over again! Not until a few months ago had I ever heard of throwing one’s shoes in the wash. What a strange practice! I used to think it was a Southern thing, but was proven wrong on that theory.
Have you ever cleaned your shoes in this way? Maybe I should give it a try one of these days…

Holding David as much as possible; who wouldn’t?
Just chilling out…
…and hanging out at my sister’s house with our nieces and nephews…
…playing card games with huge cards…
…and visiting a bit with friends!
And now, home sweet home! Also we’ve s stolen away our friend Esther to spend a couple of weeks with us, so I’m sure there will be more pictures to post soon.

P.S. Did you know that yesterday (June 8th) was “Best Friends Day”? Just thought I’d mention that…
Remember our niece Abby, playing ‘Kasie’ last year? Well, here’s installment two of that series!
She loved taking my “flip-floppers” and walking about the house in them.
~trying on my huge sunglasses.
This next picture has nothing to do with the title, but I thought it was cute. Her first self portrait! (with a little help…)
Have a blessed day!
