Sunglasses

August 29th, 2010

What do you think of Nate’s new look?

No? Yeah, I agree; it’s just not your style, Nate. Those sunglasses aren’t even his! How ’bout these?

Nope, those aren’t his either. Actually, Nate’s “in between sunglasses” right now. Time to got to Walmart again! :-)

Evan wanted to get in on the fun;

Those are my sunglasses, however, I think the style suits you quite well!

:-P

Beards

July 5th, 2010

So I’ve been thinking about beards lately (for no particular reason of course ;) ) and I came across this scale of the trustworthiness of beards. I thought it was pretty hilarious.

(You have to zoom in to get a better look)

I think I’ll go with the werewolf, or the Hitler. LOL

Am I the Only One…

June 12th, 2010

…who’s never heard of (before now, at least!) putting your sneakers in the washing machine?

In my experience, we always wear our shoes until they get dirty, maybe scrub the white parts with a wet paper towel, and continue wearing them until they fall apart and it’s times to buy new ones, and the process starts all over again! Not until a few months ago had I ever heard of throwing one’s shoes in the wash. What a strange practice! I used to think it was a Southern thing, but was proven wrong on that theory.

Have you ever cleaned your shoes in this way? Maybe I should give it a try one of these days…

:-D

“I’m Kasie!” #2

June 7th, 2010

Remember our niece Abby, playing ‘Kasie’ last year? Well, here’s installment two of that series!

She loved taking my “flip-floppers” and walking about the house in them.

~trying on my huge sunglasses.

This next picture has nothing to do with the title, but I thought it was cute. Her first self portrait! (with a little help…)

:-D Have a blessed day!

What Happens When…

March 14th, 2010

…Nate gets a hold of my notes at a Hunter’s Safety Course… (I can see through your guise, brother)

…and when I (Kasie)  seize the opportunity to add some flavor to a picture. See how much it’s improved?

Because it Was Requested…

February 12th, 2010

…by my big bro Jason, a quote from yours truly, while playing some Phase 10. Here you go, Jase!

“That’s why we don’t read directions, because you find out terrible things!”

~a “Kasieism”

If you’re totally confused, don’t worry. You’d have to live with my crazy family to truly understand, but I’ll try and explain. :-)

First of all, one must understand that Willises do not read directions. Don’t ask me why, but we just don’t, and it runs in our family too! So when we played Phase 10 for the first time, we found it remarkably similar (if not the same!) to another card game we’ve known for years, and so applied many of its rules to Phase 10. Why bother reading the directions if you already know how to proceed?

It wasn’t until we played with our Virginia family that Jason insisted we read the proper instructions concerning skips and wilds (yes, he can be a stickler! :-P ), and the outcome was worse than we had before! Nobody I didn’t like these newfound rules, and that’s when I said that famous line you just read, the one Jason will never let me forget. :-)

Still don’t get it? That’s okay. It’s a family thing…

Crazy Faces

February 9th, 2010

I thought these deserved to go on the blog…

~Evan demonstrates a new way to wear necklaces

~I’m guessing Nate didn’t want his picture taken!

~Elijah, is this your poker face? :-P (we were playing poker at the time…)

~this is me this morning, trying to dry my massive hair.

I told you it was crazy! :-)
