Spring Getaway

June 2nd, 2011

Where to, you ask?

To see the new baby, of course! And while we were there, we thought we might as well say hi to Jonathan’s parents and siblings… :)

I think we chose one the hottest days of the year to go to Virginia and see family, but other than the heat and heavy traffic on the way up, our trip was perfect! Mommy and baby are doing very well – baby is never without a pair of loving arms to hold him. It would be the same for you too if you were the youngest of 9 children and had several adoring aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends waiting their turn! Trust me.

As always, pictures can tell a story better than I can, so browse through them and enjoy!

Family is one of the greatest gifts God gives us, and I’m so thankful for mine. Have a blessed day!

A Day at the Park

May 3rd, 2011

Nate and Evan just turned 17 and 15 this past month!

Birthdays are, of course, a cause for celebration! so we went with our friends to the local park to spend the day.

Who says playgrounds are just for kids? :-)

After wearing ourselves out on the swings, roller blades and monkey bars, we met back at our house where we topped the party off with a potluck dinner and games.

Hope you had a great time, boys! But then I suppose I really can’t call them “boys” anymore…:-) Happy birthday, gentlemen!

The Skies Proclaim

April 27th, 2011

I saw this view outside, and immediately went for the camera!

God’s creation is so beautiful, isn’t it? Even when a severe thunderstorm is coming our way. :-) The work of God’s hand is indeed wondrous!

That’s About the Size Of It!

November 16th, 2010

My life over the past few weekends…

“Your Majesty, I beg to put before you loving friends…”  (and yes, that is a line from the King and I! Expect these to slip in frequently when conversing with my family…)  :-)

The one time you see Nate out on stage, not including curtain call. :-)

Silliness!

Walter sings his chant…

Dear friends who came to see the show:

“I wonder if you know what you might be facing ma’am: an Englishwoman, here in the East!”

Cast photos, and more and more cast photos…

And lastly, the set strike.

What an incredible experience!

Sully’s First Horse Show

October 30th, 2010

I didn’t believe my friend (and fellow horse lover and riding companion) when she told me I’d be riding “Sully” by myself along the roads by the end of summer, yet I am! I certainly wouldn’t believe her if she told me I’d also be taking Sully to his first horse show and placing in the classes, but that’s exactly what happened!

~Sully and me. Don’t we look so good together? :D

Horse shows are much more fun when you can enjoy them with friends, and none of my adventures last week would’ve been possible without the help of our friends, the Browns! It was Sydney’s idea to bring Sully along with her horse “Blackie” to the last show of the season, since it was a safe and easy going environment for newcomers and green horses. It was perfect! A few days and a vet call later (a standard procedure to give the ‘okay’ to Sully’s health), and we were on our way!

I didn’t know what to expect from Sully. I didn’t even know if he’d ever been brought to a horse show before (read the story of how I got my horses here), but I’m proud of him! For the most part he was a good boy, and we came away with three ribbons out of the four classes we entered in! (2 third place, and one second!) It was a great experience for us.

I still consider Sully somewhat green, but he’s come such a long way! As I said before, I’m very proud of him, and now I know certain aspects of his training that we need to work on. :-) I can never stay mad at him long, that’s for sure. He’s just too cute!

Thank you so much, Sydney and Mrs. Brown for picking us up and for a fantastic fun time!

Now to see what I can do with Violet! That’s gonna be interesting… :-)

~Kasie

P.S. For those of you who don’t know, Violet’s my other horse; a rescued thoroughbred mare, very neurotic, very high strung and high tempered, and very herd bound to Sully. Training her is going to be a definite challenge!

Photoshoot Sneak Peak and Outtakes

October 19th, 2010

Our band pictures have needed an update for a long time, but it wasn’t until last week that we actually had an official shoot!

It was a fun day, and we got a lot of great shots! We ended up with over 2000 photos, but I’ll only post a handful.

So here you have it; the first look at our photo shoot, unedited with outtakes and all. :-) Enjoy!

Many thanks to our ever patient, ever helpful photographer and gracious hosts! (that taco soup really was delicious!) You guys are awesome.

So be looking for a website makeover in the near future…once we’ve sorted through and edited this mountain of pictures we have. :-) Have a blessed day!

What a Face!

My nephew has learned very quickly how to ham it up for the camera.

There, that’s better!

Overdue Post #1

June 22nd, 2010

Otherwise titled, Picture Post Catchup!

A lot of fun happenings going on at Providence Glen. Our visit with Esther was great, and yes, we do have a lot of pictures to show for it! Here’s the first batch for you;

Airsoft Time!

Don’t you just love it when you’re playing airsoft near a country road, all decked out in camo, packing an automatic gun and other weapons, and then a car drives by…very slowly. They turn their heads, and then the moment of truth comes, when your spectators either smile and laugh, or give you one of those “I-think-you’re-crazy” stares. Not that any of this happened to me or anything! I just thought I’d mentioned it. :-D

The Last Few (for today, anyway. I have another similar post coming)

Happy Summer! (a day late, I know…) :-)

Caleb and Me

May 30th, 2010

~Me and my 6-year-old nephew, Caleb

~Trying to be all cool with our self portrait shots

And of course, a silly picture! Every family has a crazy uncle, but do they have a crazy Aunt? I’d better watch out. :-)
